Buffalo Woman Arraigned on Murder Charge for Fatal Shooting on Berkshire Avenue

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 29-year-old Jasmine Craig of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Shannon M. Heneghan on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony).

It is alleged that on August 22, 2022 at approximately 12:35 a.m., the defendant did shoot and kill the victim in the vicinity of 171 Berkshire Avenue in Buffalo. The victim, a 30-year-old female, died at the scene.

Craig is scheduled to return on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. She was remanded without bail.

If convicted of the charge, Craig faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

DA Flynn commends the work of Buffalo Police Department detectives for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by ADA Eugene T. Partridge of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
