Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 18-year-old Zachery Aroix of Clarence pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.

On March 31, 2017, Aroix and two other defendants lured the victim to a construction site off of Gentwood Drive in Clarence in attempt to rob him at gunpoint. When the victim attempted to flee, Aroix shot the victim in the leg with a 12-guage shot gun.

Aroix faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. before Judge DiTullio. 

Assistant District Attorney Danielle D’Abate of the Training/Special Projects Bureau prosecuted the case.
