Defendant Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter Charge for Beating His Girlfriend's Toddler to Death

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Nathaniel J. Baker of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony.

On January 7, 2020, the defendant caused the death of 2-year-old Jordan Robinson, his girlfriend’s child, by beating the toddler at a home on Theodore Street in the City of Buffalo. The victim was taken to ECMC where he was pronounced dead.

Baker faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held without bail.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine Garvey of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.
