Defendant Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter for Fatally Stabbing Female Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 33-year-old Antonio B. Lee of Buffalo pleaded guilty this morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony).

The defendant admitted that he caused the death of 53-year-old Marguerite A. Reading by stabbing her inside of his apartment on Albany Street in the City of Buffalo on Saturday, January 25, 2020. The victim’s body was later found in the vicinity of the Buffalo Central Terminal near Paderewski Drive. An autopsy by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the victim died from multiple stab wounds.

Lee faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. He continues to be held without bail.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Gary W. Hackbush of the Homicide Bureau.
