Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Rakeem Scott of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Assault in the Third Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor.

On December 19, 2018, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the defendant was driving on Walden Avenue in the Town of Cheektowaga when he stopped his vehicle at an intersection to approach another driver. The defendant dragged the victim out of the vehicle and punching him in the face multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Scott faces a maximum of 1 year in jail when he is sentenced on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends the Cheektowaga Police Department for their work in this investigation.  

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alicia M. Lilley of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
