Driver Charged with DWI After Crashing into East Aurora Home

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old Kevin Eggert of Cheektowaga has been arraigned before Aurora Town Justice Anthony DiFilippo, IV on one count of Driving While Intoxicated, First Offense, a misdemeanor offense, and the following vehicle and traffic infractions:

  • Failure to Keep Right on a Two Lane Road
  • Moved from Lane Unsafely
  • Failed to Yield Right of Way to Emergency Vehicle
  • Speed Violation, Speed in Zone
  • Speed Violation, Unreasonable Speed
  • No Seat Belt, Driver

The defendant was arraigned on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.

It is alleged that on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at approximately 1:50 a.m., the defendant was driving a vehicle while intoxicated on Knox Road in East Aurora when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house.

Eggert is scheduled to return on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. He was released on his own recognizance.

The case is being prosecuted by Paul J. Glascott, Chief of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
