Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Rakeem Scott of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to 364 days in jail.

On December 19, 2018, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the defendant was driving on Walden Avenue in the Town of Cheektowaga when he stopped his vehicle at an intersection to approach another driver. The defendant dragged the victim out of the vehicle and punched him in the face multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Scott pleaded guilty to one count of Assault in the Third Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor, on August 30, 2019.

DA Flynn commends the Cheektowaga Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alicia M. Lilley of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
