Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Jake Klocek of East Aurora has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to 4-12 years in state prison for the unintentional shooting of his friend. 

In July, the defendant pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to Manslaughter in the Second Degree. 

On November 6, 2016, at 101 Dorris Drive in Elma, the defendant, who was 19-years-old at the time, recklessly caused the death of 19-year-old Anthony King of Elma by shooting him. 

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of the Erie County Sheriff’s Department including Senior Detective John Graham, Detectives Jonathan Hanna, Shaun Hediger and Matthew Noecker. 

Chief Colleen Curtin Gable of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Noha A. Elnakib prosecuted the case.
