Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 47-year-old Michelle Sanders of Leonard St. in Buffalo has pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree before State Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang. 

Sanders admits that from October 2015-February 2016, while she was a caregiver for a 94-year-old Amherst woman, she stole $10,433.50 by using the elderly woman’s ATM card without permission or authority. 

Sanders faces up to 7 years in jail when she is sentenced by Justice Wolfgang on October 4, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. The defendant has also agreed to make full restitution. 

Acting DA Flaherty commends Detective Richard Stephens, Jr. of the Amherst Police Department for his assistance in the investigation. 

Assistant District Attorney Candace K. Vogel is prosecuting the case.
