Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 40-year-old Jeremy Pecoraro of Town of Tonawanda pleaded guilty before Grand Island Town Court Justice Mark J. Frentzel to one count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a Class “B” misdemeanor. The defendant pleaded guilty on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Following an investigation into missing prescription narcotics from a drug drop-off box located in the lobby of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, the defendant was found in possession of prescription pills on March 22, 2019.

The defendant was employed as a paramedic for the Town of Tonawanda at the time of the incident. As part of his duties, he assisted in removing prescriptions from the drop-off box. He has since been fired from his position.

Pecoraro was sentenced last night to a 1 year conditional discharge, which includes leading a law abiding life, obtaining employment, and completing mandated counseling at Horizon Health Services until formerly discharged.

DA Flynn commends Lieutenant Tom Moore, Captain Joe Fennell and Lieutenant Timothy Hark of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alicia M. Lilley of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
