Former Treasurer Sentenced for Stealing from Elementary School PTA Fund

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 38-year-old Jennifer Seyfang of Town of Tonawanda has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to three years probation and 200 hours of community service.

In November 2017, the defendant pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Attempted Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

From July 2016 to September 2017, Seyfang admitted to stealing $14,104 from the Charles A. Lindbergh Elementary School in the Town of Tonawanda while serving as the treasurer of the Parent-Teacher Association.

The defendant served as treasurer of the Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Booster Club where she attempted to steal $9,523.

Seyfang has made full restitution.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Russell Paternostro from the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.

This case was prosecuted by Chief Candace K. Vogel and Assistant District Attorney Gary M. Ertel of the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau.
