Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old Juan Colon has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to a determinate sentence of 20 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

On July 9, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the defendant fatally shot 26-year-old Angel Marcial, Jr. of Buffalo as he was driving on the I-190 North near the Niagara Street exit in the City of Buffalo.

On March 8, 2019, a jury found Colon guilty of one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony.

DA Flynn commends the New York State Police for their work in this investigation, including Investigators John McCusker and Chris Weber.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III, of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Danielle N. D’Abate, Chief of the DA’s Community Prosecution Bureau.
