Judge Finds Buffalo Man Guilty of Murder in East Delavan Avenue Homicide

Erie County District John J. Flynn announces that State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns has found 20-year-old Jonathen Malone, Jr. of Buffalo guilty, as charged, on one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

On March 22, 2018, the defendant fatally shot 26-year-old Dimitris Morgan of Buffalo on East Delavan Avenue near Courtland Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

Malone faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends the outstanding investigative work of the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad, including Det. Sgt. James Dunham and Detectives Scott Malec, Christopher Sterlace, Terrence Supples and Mark White.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michael D. Smith of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Danielle E. Phillips of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
