Judge Finds Buffalo Man Guilty of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case has found 37-year-old Eric Everett, also known as Kamari Benz, of Buffalo guilty, as charged, of one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class “A-II” felony, following a three-day bench trial.

Between June 9, 2016 and December 31, 2016, the defendant engaged in sexual conduct with a victim who was less than thirteen years old at a location in the City of Buffalo.

Everett faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Case on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. He remains held without bail.

DA Flynn commends Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Katharine S. Lavin and Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
