Jury Finds Buffalo Man Guilty of Rape

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 39-year-old Hu Sin of Buffalo guilty, as charged, of Rape in the First Degree, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and Rape in the Third Degree.

On May 25, 2017, the defendant entered his sister-in-law’s apartment and proceeded to rape her in front of her 4-year old son.

Sin faces 25 years in state prison when he is sentenced by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi on July 2 at 9:30 am. 

DA Flynn commends BPD SOS Detectives, Mark Costantino, Vatasha Tibbs and Jeff Banes; Detective James McMahon and Officer Adam Meilcarek for their thorough work on the case.

Assistant District Attorneys Bethany A. Solek and Anthony M. Rossi of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
