Lackawanna Man to Serve Jail Time for Criminal Sexual Act with Teenage Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 68-year-old Stephen Savaglio of Lackawanna has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to a determinate sentence of 6 months in jail followed by 10 years of sex offender probation.

The defendant admitted that he engaged in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old victim at a location in the Town of Orchard Park on May 3, 2019.

Savaglio pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree, a Class “D” violent felony. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest sustainable charge against him on Monday, July 22, 2019.

In addition to the sentence, Judge Wojtaszek issued a final no contact order of protection on behalf of the victim.

DA Flynn commends Detective John Payne of the Orchard Park Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
