Lancaster Man Arraigned on Sex Abuse & Child Porn Charges

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Jeremy Casey of Lancaster has been arraigned before Lancaster Town Justice Jeremy A. Colby on one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “D” felony, one count of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor, and two counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, Class “E” felonies. The defendant was arraigned on Thursday afternoon.

It is alleged that on July 4, 2018, the defendant subjected two underage victims to sexual contact. During the investigation into these allegations, several images of child pornography were found on the defendant’s cell phone.

Casey is scheduled to return on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 4 p.m. for a felony hearing.

If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 7 years in prison.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Robert Cornell and Detective Lieutenant James Robinson  of the Lancaster Police Department.

Assistant District Attorney Cathleen M. Roemer of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
