Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 45-year-old Joseph Lloyd of Niagara Falls has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns to four months of weekends in jail and five years probation for a series of unfulfilled home improvement contracts.

In February of 2016, Lloyd pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree before Justice Burns.

Lloyd admitted he took money from three different victims for home improvement projects, but never did the work.

Between July 21, 2014 and October 14, 2015, the defendant engaged in a scheme that defrauded the victims of a total of $17, 900.

Justice Burns has ordered the defendant to make restitution to all three victims.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Jurusik of Acting DA Flaherty’s Special Prosecutions and Investigations Bureau prosecuted the case.
