Ohio Man Sentenced on Gun Charges

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 28-year-old Rachad DeJesus of Cleveland, Ohio was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to a determinate sentence of 3 ½ years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

On November 12, 2019 a search warrant was executed at an apartment on Hertel Avenue in the City of Buffalo. Inside the apartment, investigators from the Buffalo Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found the defendant in possession of four semi-automatic pistols.

DeJesus pleaded guilty to four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felonies). The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges in the indictment against him on August 22, 2022.

DA Flynn commends members of law enforcement who assisted in this investigation, including the Buffalo Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan D. Haggerty of the Homicide Bureau.
