Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 45-year-old Johnny M. Linton of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to a determinate sentence of 2 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.

The defendant admitted that he subjected a child victim to sexual contact at a location in the City of Buffalo on December 7, 2019.

Linton pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “D” violent felony, on March 3, 2020.

Justice Buscaglia issued a no-contact order of protection on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect until January 17, 2030. Linton will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

DA Flynn commends Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rebecca L. Schnirel of the DA’s Special Victims Unit.
