Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that 54 year old Ernesto Rodriguez Abreu has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to 15 years in prison plus 12 years post-release supervision on sexual offense charges.

On May 13, 2016, the defendant pleaded guilty to Course of Sexual Conduct in the First Degree and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree.

Over a period of years, Abreu engaged in two or more acts of sexual contact, including anal contact with a juvenile under the age of 13.

Within the past year, the defendant engaged in anal sexual contact with a juvenile while the juvenile was physically helpless due to the forced ingestion of drugs.

Acting DA Flaherty commends Buffalo Police Lt. Valerie Stover-Kelly for her investigative work.

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of DA Flaherty’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
