Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 18-year-old Evelyn Soto of Buffalo has been arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Betty Calvo-Torres on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” felony.

It is alleged that on Monday, October 28, 2019, the defendant killed a 23-year-old man inside an apartment on Ivy Street in the City of Buffalo.

Soto is scheduled to return on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing.

If convicted on the charge, Soto faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
