Two Women Rising To The Top At The Erie County District Attorney's Office

In honor of Women's History Month, two women lawyers at the Erie County District Attorney's Office are being recognized for their achievements.

Donna Milling is the first minority and woman to serve as First Assistant to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr.  During her 29 years with the office, Milling has worked as Chief of the Appeals Bureau, Legal Counsel to the District Attorney and was a member of the Grand Jury Bureau and the Buffalo City Court Bureau.

Milling holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pace University and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University at Buffalo.

Colleen Curtin Gable is the first woman ever to serve as Chief of the Homicide Bureau at the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

Gable was appointed to the DA's office in 1999 and began prosecuting sexual assaults, child abuse and other felonies.

She is a graduate of Cornell University and Boston College Law School.
