Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Hannah Christensen of Clifton Park, NY has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on one count of Leaving the Scene of an Incident without Reporting Resulting in a Serious Physical Injury, an “E” Felony.

It is alleged that on the night of November 1, 2018, the defendant was driving on Hadley Road on the North Campus of the University of Buffalo when she hit the victim, also a UB student, who was walking in a marked crosswalk.  The defendant then left the scene and pulled into a parking lot away from the scene but close enough where she could see the emergency responders treating the victim.  She never reported the incident.

The defendant was released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to return on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial report.

If convicted, Christensen faces up to 4 years in prison.

Paul J. Glascott, Chief of the DA’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
