Williamsville Man Arraigned on Numerous Sex Abuse Charges

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces 39-year-old John Negrych of Williamsville has been arraigned by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case on several charges, including one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, one count of Rape in the Third Degree, one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

It is alleged that between January 9, 2018 and February 12, 2018, the defendant raped a juvenile female in the Town of Amherst and subjected her to forcible oral sexual conduct.

Negrych is scheduled to return on Wednesday, October 10 at 9:30 a.m.

If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 29 years in prison followed by a maximum of 20 years of post-release supervision.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Mark Pitirri of the Amherst Police Department.

Assistant District Attorney Katharine S. Lavin of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
