Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 47 year old

Kathleen B. Pittman of 7243 Bella Drive, North Tonawanda, pleaded guilty as charged to Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree before Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller.  This is the highest charge for which she could have been convicted had she gone to trial.

Pittman admitted that during the period between January 4, 2006 and November 19, 2012, while employed by Northtowns Orthopedics at 8750 Transit Road, East Amherst as billing secretary/administrator, she stole approximately $20,743 by falsifying patient’s billing records.  She would adjust off the co-pays that were paid in cash and keep the money.  Pittman said she stole the money for personal expenses.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Susan H. Sadinsky, of the Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau.

Pittman faces a maximum prison term of 4 years when she is sentenced before Justice Boller on September 9, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
