Legislator Dixon presents a donation to Hamburg
Library Director Jack Edson to support the library's efforts
to provide quality programming and materials. The
funds were raised during a hot dog roast at the library.

Beach Clean Up

Legislator Dixon participated in the 2010 Great
Lakes Beach Sweep at Woodlawn State Park. Dozens
of volunteers collected trash along the shoreline.

Car seat safety check

Legislator Dixon speaks with a constituent while
trained professionals inspect and install a car
seat. Several residents stopped to have their
car seats inspected for free during the Car
Seat Safety Check held at Highland Hose
Fire Company.

Kaleida Groundbreaking

Legislators Ray Walter and Lynne Dixon participate in
a groundbreaking ceremony in August 2010 for
Kaleida's new long-term care facility on Michigan Avenue.

New totes

Legislator Dixon particiapted in a press conference
at Chestnut Ridge Park announcing the installation
of new totes at all county parks. The totes carry a
message asking users to refrain from smoking
in county parks.

Rabies Clinic

Legislator Dixon greets a four-legged constituent at
one of the rabies clinics held throughout Erie County.
Rabies vaccinations are administered for free.

Meals on Wheels
Legislator Lynne Dixon participated in the 2011
Mayors for Meals event at the Meals on Wheels
for Western New York's site in Hamburg, and delivered
meals to homebound seniors with volunteer Barbara,
left. Site Director Amanda helped them prepare for
the route.

WKBW prom

Legislator Dixon thanks the WKBW morning crew for
inviting her onto their show to promote her 2011
Prom Dress Drive. The show aired March 29, 2011.

Bike path

Legislator Dixon reviews the plans for the Evans Bike
Path on June 23, 2011. Pictured in the background
is the new pedestrian bridge, installed the day before.
The path connecting Wendt and Bennett beaches is
scheduled to open July 2011.

Eden Evans Center Road done

A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the completion of
work on Eden Evans Center Road. Legislator Dixon joined
County officials and contractors to make the announcement.


Patrick Plunkett was honored on March 15, 2012 for
being named the 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand
Marshal. Legislator Lynne Dixon, Minority Leader John Mills
and Majority Leader Tom Mazur presented a proclamation to
Mr. Plunkett in recognition of his achievement.

Lackawanna resident Alex Sadowski graduated from
the Basic Corrections Academy in April 2012.
Deputy Sadowski was the class salutatorian; he will be
assigned to the Erie County Holding Center.

Sheriff's Deputy Elizabeth Fildes was honored by Legislator Dixon
during the May 10, 2012 Legislative session for her
efforts to combat human trafficking. She was recognized
shortly before she was scheduled to present to officials in Ecuador.

Lackwanna Firefighters Rick Chmielowiec and Ron Shul
were recognized during the May 24, 2012 Legislative Session
for an act of bravery during a routine medical call in April.
The two veteran firefighters disarmed a man who had pointed
a gun at them, saving the lives of everyone in the house
at the time. Legislator Dixon applauds their efforts and
thanks them for their service.  

The Buffalo Zoo continues its campaign to build the new
Arctic Edge Exhibit for its polar bears, including its youngest,
"Luna," born in November. Visit www.buffalozoo.org to

City Honors School took second place in the first rain
barrel decorating contest. A total of 22 schools competed.  

Legislator Dixon particpated in the Stanley G. Falk School's
Student Government Association’s Distinguished Speakers Series.

Jennifer Nahrebeski of Lackawanna was honored at the
Legislature's June 6, 2013 session in recognition of
being named the recipient of Stanley G. Falk School's
Distinguished Educator Award. 

Legislator Lynne Dixon and Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Kevin Overdorf at the first annual Women's Business Luncheon held at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. Legislator Dixon provided an update on county issues, discussed the budget process, and highlighted the importance of women in business and leadership roles setting examples for the next generation.

Legislator Dixon sponsors resolution to make ‘Yellow Dot’ program available to residents

Erie County Legislator Lynne M. Dixon held a press conference on Monday, October 24, 2011 conjointly with Department of Senior Services Commissioner Brenda Ward to discuss two proposed programs that would provide first responders with critical information at the scene of an emergency that could help save a life.

Legislator Lynne Dixon, Hamburg, announces that the necessary funding for a new state-of-the-art landing pad for the Erie County Sheriff’s helicopter was approved during the Erie County Legislature’s Oct. 20, 2011 session.

Legislator Dixon sponsors resolution to streamline process for obtaining vital statistic records

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon, working with Legislature Chairwoman Barbara Miller-Williams, sponsored a resolution requesting the consolidation of two separate vital statistics reporting districts located in the City of Buffalo and streamline the process for obtaining records, such as death certificates.
