Legislator Dixon, Sheriff’s Office to host free Boater Safety Course in May

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon in partnership with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office will hold a free Boater Safety Course that allows boaters to meet the requirements of New York State law.  The course will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3, at the Woodlawn Beach Lodge, 3580 Lakeshore Road, Blasdell. Registrants must attend both sessions of the two-day course in order to receive their New York State Boating Safety Certificate, which is a $10 fee.

Legislator Dixon announces Lake Avenue funding secured for 2017

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon is pleased to announce that Lake Avenue, from Route 5 to South Park Avenue in Hamburg/Blasdell, will finally be repaired this year. The funding for the project, which totals $2.4 million, was approved at the Thursday, April 6, 2017 session.

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon announces that the Legislature has unanimously approved two resolutions at the March 23, 2017 session that call on Congress to restore funding for critical programs: Meals on Wheels and Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).

Erie County kicks off Alcohol Awareness Month

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon and the Erie County Council for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (ECCPASA) announce the kick off of April – Alcohol Awareness Month. Legislator Dixon presented a proclamation to Robin Mann, Executive Director of the ECCPASA and the entire ECCPASA staff on March 29, 2017 to mark the start of a month-long campaign to raise awareness.

Legislator Dixon, Urban Valet continue to collect prom dresses through April 13

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon and Urban Valet Dry Cleaner President Eric Pyne remind the community that gently used or new gowns and dresses will be collected through Thursday, April 13 for the 8th annual Prom Dress Drive. Each year the community generously donates more than a thousand dresses to ensure that every girl who needs a dress for prom has one.
