Division of Highways

The Division of Highways is responsible for the engineering and inspection of over a thousand miles of roadways, making ours the largest transportation design team in Western New York.

Erie County is an exciting place to perform highway design. Four widely varying seasons, a diverse terrain, and usages ranging from metropolitan to agricultural make every project an enjoyable challenge. Designs must meet not only standards; they must meet user expectations too.

To rise to these challenges, we have assembled the best of theory and experience into our team. That's because our staff includes licensed engineers and veterans of county road maintenance - all working together to provide the best, safest and most cost effective roadways for Erie County residents and their visitors.
