Join us Saturday April 29th for a specialized workshop on behavior and Down syndrome. Author of the popular book, Supporting Positive Behavior in Children and Teens with Down Syndrome: The Respond but Don’t React Method, Dr. David Stein of Boston will be in Buffalo to present the basic neuroscience of Down syndrome, and how this informs effective behavior management. Workshop attendees will leave equipped with practical strategies to immediately employ at home or in school. Broad application of Dr. Stein’s approach can apply to many children with special needs, and not just those with Down syndrome. All professionals, parents, and friends welcome.
Three credit hours of continuing education offered to ASHA, AOTA, PT, teachers, and social work. In partnership with Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center.

- Describe the basic differences in neurodevelopment in individuals with Down Syndrome;
- Describe basic behavior methods and those which are effective for individuals with Down Syndrome;
- Describe the development of individuals with Down Syndrome into adolescence and effective strategies to support individuals throughout this transition.
