The Board of Ethics is charged with ensuring high moral and ethical standards among Erie County’s elected and appointed officials, and employees. Holding public office or employment is a public trust, and as one safeguard of that trust, the people require Erie County’s officers and employees to adhere to a code of ethics. The Board’s mission is to assure the trust, respect, and confidence of the people of Erie County by discouraging Erie County officials and employees from acting upon personal or financial interests in the performance of their public responsibilities. We are the public’s ethics watch dog and strive to promote and strengthen the faith and confidence of the people of Erie County in their public officials and employees.
