Greenan had served for 11 years; Palmer to act as Interim Commissioner through Hiring Process 

ERIE COUNTY, NY— Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz today announced the resignation of Erie County Personnel Commissioner John Greenan, who had served in the post for over 11 years after initially being appointed by then-County Executive Giambra in 2002. Greenan resigned in order to accept a position in the Erie County Sheriff’s office.

“Commissioner Greenan has served the people of Erie County well, first as a Legislator and then in his role as Personnel Commissioner, and I thank him for that service and wish him well in his new post. I have appointed County Commissioner of Labor Relations David Palmer to serve as Interim Commissioner of Personnel while we seek Mr. Greenan’s replacement,” said Poloncarz. “Having a competent and hardworking Personnel Commissioner is vital to smooth County operations.  I will be accepting resumes and applications from interested & qualified applicants for this position through the end of February.”

County Executive Poloncarz will be accepting resumes and applications for the Personnel Commissioner position from qualified applicants through 2:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014. Materials should be mailed or hand delivered to:
