Erie County Emergency Services is pleased to announce a new capability available to all First Responders.

Through Homeland Security initiatives, the Department purchased four (4) Polaris Two-Up ATVs and two (2) RescueBoggans that are deployable at a moment’s notice when the need arises. These ATVs can fit two people and can be used to transport personnel or equipment.

To request this asset for an incident, please contact MERS Control at 716-898-3696 or via the Radio on Countywide (CW) Fire. When deployed, we will supply one operator, certified by the ATV Safety Institute, for each ATV.

In addition to utilization of these assets Emergency Services has Certified Trainers who can teach ATV Rider Safety to members of your department through the ATV Safety Institute. If you are interested in scheduling a class you can contact Jerry Whittington Jr. at gerard.whittington@erie.gov or 716-858-4799.

If you have additional questions regarding these assets please contact the department at 716-858-6578.
