2017-08-01

Attention All Southern Erie County Fire Departments under East Aurora, Evans, Hamburg, Orchard Park and Springville Fire Controls:

The Erie County Water Authority has advised no unnecessary use of water in these affected areas. This includes absolutely no hydrant use other than for actual fires (No training, etc.)

Repairs to the water main at Sturgeon Point will take at least another 48 hours. Water consumption continuing at its current rate can create more substantial issues.

Should emergency water/hydrant use be necessary due to an actual fire, please have your dispatch center notify the Erie County Water Authority Customer Service line at: 716-849-8444 immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation in this critical matter.

GENERAL INFO:

The Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) is asking for customers in the Town and Village of Hamburg, Town and Village of Orchard Park, Town of Aurora, Village of East Aurora, Towns of Colden, Boston, Eden, Evans, Brant and Hanover and the Villages of Angola, Farnham, Silver Creek, and the Seneca Indian Reservation, to temporarily restrict water use until further notice due to a water main break at ECWA's Sturgeon Point Treatment Plant.

During this repair period, customers in the affected area may experience a drop in water pressure, but there is no need to take additional precautionary measures such as boiling water.

For more information, please visit www.ecwa,org or contact ECWA Customer Service at 716-849-8444.
