Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School Robotics Team Wolverine Welcomed to the Erie County Legislature by Democratic Leader Betty Jean Grant

Betty Jean Grant met with the students of the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School Robotics Team on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Erie County Legislature.  The students will be representing the City of Buffalo at the First Robotics Competition (FRC) Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester, N.Y. at the state competition on Friday, March 28, 2014.

Legislator Grant gave the students a behind-the-scenes tour of the Legislature and offered them her best wishes and encouragement on their upcoming competition.

This past November, the Buffalo Academy of Science hosted the First Lego League (FLL) competition for the Finger Lakes Region. Team Wolverine won the “Creativity Award” in the Middle School Division.

In December, Team Wolverine placed first, High School Division, in the Finger Lakes New York First Tech Challenge (FTC) qualifying tournament in Rochester N.Y. 

On February 15th, the members of Team Wolverine competed in the FTC Hudson Valley N.Y. championship at Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. and placed fourth out of thirty-four teams in the High School Division.
