Legislator Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo) commended Aaron Bartley for his civic contributions, and in recognition of his work, named him Erie County’s Citizen of the Month for January 2014 at the Erie County Legislature’s regular session at Old County Hall on January 23rd.
Aaron Bartley is the Co-Founder of People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH Buffalo), a community son who attended Buffalo Public Schools, and after graduating from Swarthmore College and Harvard Law School, returned to Buffalo energized and prepared to make a difference in our community.
Aaron Bartley is a shaker and a mover, who co-founded the Harvard Living Wage Campaign that resulted in a $10 million dollar annual wage and benefit increase for low-income workers on the Harvard University campus.
Under the leadership of Aaron Bartley, PUSH Buffalo’s Green Development Zone won the Global Sustainable Housing Competition sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Brazilian Ministry of Cities and HUD for their work on green housing, job training and storm water management on Buffalo’s West Side.
Aaron Bartley was recently appointment by Governor Andrew Cuomo to the WNY Regional Economic Development Council.
