Minority, Women's Business Committee to Host 'Open for Business' Workshop

                The Erie County Legislature Minority Women Business Enterprise Committee and County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz will sponsor an “Erie County Government: Open for Business” workshop from 5:30-7:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Frank Merriweather Library, Jefferson Avenue and East Utica Street, Buffalo.

Chairperson Grant, Legislator Mazur Recognize Veterans Games Organizers

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), left, and County Legislature Majority Leader Thomas J. Mazur (D-Buffalo, Cheektowaga), center, a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, honored organizers of the National Veterans Golden Age Games at the May 23 session for their hard work in arranging the games in Erie County. The games will be held in Buffalo through June 4.

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), left, and Legislator Timothy R. Hogues (D-Buffalo), right, chair of the Public Safety Committee, honored Buffalo Police Department Officer Darren Exum for his community involvement as part of National Police Week at its May 23 session. Officer Exum was specifically honored for his work refurbishing and providing bicycles for Buffalo children who do not have and cannot afford bicycles.
