Chairperson Grant Helps Honor the Rev. Carter, UNYTS for Transplant Work

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), left, and Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo (C-West Seneca), right, present the Reverend Jeff Carter a proclamation honoring UNYTS for its leadership in organ, tissue, eye and blood donation services to Western New York at the April 11 session. The Rev. Carter is an organ donor, platelet donor and advocate for such services.

Chairperson Grant Announces Dates of Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Events

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo) announced that two Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off events will be held by the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning this spring.

            Erie County Legislator Timothy R. Hogues (D-Buffalo) and County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), center, are surrounded by Houghton Academy teacher Kevin Buchholtz and a group of students who were honored for their efforts in the first annual Youth Entrepreneurship Showcase.  Houghton Academy students earned first and second-place awards.

Chairperson Grant, Legislature Recognize Barbara Breckenridge for Kidney Work

Hogues (D-Buffalo), left, County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), second from left, and County Legislature Legislative Aide Rebecca Brooks, right, honor Barbara Breckenridge of the National Kidney Foundation Serving Western New York during National Kidney Disease Awareness Month at the March 21 session. Ms. Breckenridge, a kidney transplant recipient, has won several World Transplant Games track and field medals and is the community relations director of the Northeast Kidney Foundation of Greater Buffalo.
