Buffalo/Erie County Safe Neighborhoods Initiative May 6 Minutes Released

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo) is releasing for public and media review the minutes of the May 6, 2013, City of Buffalo/Erie County Safe Neighborhoods Initiative meeting. Chariperson Grant serves as an ex-officio member.

Chair Grant, Legislator Hogues Announce Prescription Drug Collection

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo) and Legislator Timothy R. Hogues (D-Buffalo) are joining County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz announcing that the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and several other groups will collect unwanted and expired prescription drugs at several locations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Chairperson Grant Helps Honor the Rev. Carter, UNYTS for Transplant Work

The Rev. Carter is an organ donor, platelet donor and advocate for such services.

Chairperson Grant Announces Dates of Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Events

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo) announced that two Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off events will be held by the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning this spring.

Hogues (D-Buffalo) and County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), center, are surrounded by Houghton Academy teacher Kevin Buchholtz and a group of students who were honored for their efforts in the first annual Youth Entrepreneurship Showcase.  Houghton Academy students earned first and second-place awards.
