Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently honored WNY Foster Closet and its Board Members Erin Richeal, Kara Brody and Cheryl Flick on the grand opening of their new location at the Eastern Hills Mall.

WNY Foster Closet is a nonprofit organization that assists foster, kinship and 1017 families with their basic needs. WNY Foster Closet helps reduce families financial strain by allowing parents to shop free of charge four times a year and offers up to seven days’ worth of clothing per child.

If you are interested in helping the organization you can—volunteer to sort/hang clothes, organize a fundraiser or clothing drive, spread the word about the organization or donate financially to their PayPal account @fosterlovecloset.

Legislator Greene said, “I want to welcome WNY Foster Closet to the Eastern Hills Mall! Thank you to Board Members Erin, Kara and Cheryl for the wonderful work you do in helping ease the burden foster families are faced with.”

WNY Foster Closet Board Member Cheryl Flick said, “We are very excited to have kids in care and families be able to ‘shop for free’ with us at the Eastern Hills Mall providing new and gently used items with dignity, grace and love from our many clothing racks. At our grand opening we were able to help eight kids get items they needed. It was exciting for a few of them to run around and choose items, try on jackets and leave with a backpack full of things just for them.”
