Erie County Legislator Kevin Hardwick, R-Tonawanda, joined his colleagues in the Minority Caucus to present a proclamation to the American Red Cross during the July 21, 2011 session to honor and recognize its efforts during “90 Days of Remembrance,” a 12-week blood donation campaign ending on Sept. 11.

“90 Days of Remembrance” marks the solemn 10th anniversary of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and remembers those who were lost. Donors are encouraged to donate at one of the five Western New York locations now through Sept. 11 to ensure that the American Red Cross has a ready supply of blood to meet daily demands. Legislator Hardwick is the proud sponsor of the week of July 24, and asks his constituents to donate during that time.

“A few weeks ago I rolled up my sleeve and donated at the Mid City Plaza location and was pleased to see that several donors had already done their part as well, but more donations are needed as the nation faces a critically low supply of blood. Please take the time to donate this week,” Legislator Hardwick said.

The Mid City Center is located at 301 Meadow Drive, near Payne Avenue, North Tonawanda. Hours are: 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. first and third Friday of the month; and 7 a.m.- 1 p.m. first, third and fifth Saturday of the month For additional information about how and where to donate, please visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
