The Erie County Department of Health participates in prescription drug drop-off events organized by partner agencies in our community. If not disposed of properly, prescription drugs pose a hazard to our environment and risk getting into the hands of children or others who may be unintentionally harmed by their use.
Residents are encouraged to go through their medicine cabinets, closets, junk drawers, etc. and gather unused, expired, old or unwanted prescription medications. Prescription medications can be dropped off at one of our upcoming events (with no questions asked), and they will be properly disposed of.
