Erie County Legislator Timothy R. Hogues (D-Buffalo) appreciates the information provided by County Comptroller David J. Shenk and County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard on the comptroller’s audit of the Sheriff’s Office commissary fund.
Both officials appeared at the County Legislature’s November 1 Public Safety Committee meeting to inform the committee and the public on the findings and steps recommended over the audit.
“We had a very lively and passionate discussion with the sheriff and the comptroller concerning the commissary audit findings and the audit process,” Legislator Hogues, chair of the Public Safety Committee, said. “We need to better understand the true breakdown between what was spent from the telephone funds and the commissary funds. I have asked for that information to be provided to the members of the Public Safety Committee so we can clear up any confusion surrounding the past utilization of the two accounts.”
