WNYPAC and WNYAIC Collaborative Agenda Items Facebook Page Update schedule: Feb-Passport Health; March – Scott; April – NCDOH; May – ECHD Registration for conference link is on Facebook page No suggestions at this time from group. 2014 Immunization Conference Planning May 21, 2014 Finger Lakes Conference 5/20/14; Registration form is done and will be up on web; Please offer to all providers, pharmacies as well; Save The Date Flyer was emailed to all attendees from last year; Agenda reviewed; All coalition members not on planning committee will need to pay for registration; Discussed publicity for event, possibility of contacting local media sources; Manufacturer reps still awaiting approval for conference; Arlene/MedImmune will not be attending this year; Erie Cty Lead group will leave Lead info on tables; Speaker gifts - ? Buffalo Bites Wine for giveaways - Karm Pink Book raffle - Karen Movie tickets (Regal) – Bev Index cards for questions – Bev Dr. Judelsohn Award nominees and voting: Dr. Joe Kita – 13 votes, Dr. Mattimore will notify him Dr. Martin Mahoney – 1 vote Dr. Gale Burstein – vote Dr. Myron Glick – 2 votes Vaccine Safety Coalition HPV media message complete with viewing at meeting; will electronically disseminate so members uploade and share on websites, Facebook page, etc. Will be posted on YouTube, looking for hits from this site so message will move up in web search ratings. Please spread word to increase number of hits. WNY Pediatric Society hosting event April 30th 2014 in conjunction with monthly meeting; will be screening Invisible Threat, with speaker panel to follow, including Dr. Nick Yates and local ethics attorney. Coalition members are welcome, there is a minimal guest fee. Colleen will forward information. Vaccine Puzzle Final changes approved. Thank you Lacie for all your hard work! Resource Document Completed after merging with ECHD Travel Clinic document and adding pharmacy information. Up on website. VFC Ordering via NYSIIS – 4/1/14 all providers must order vaccine via NYSIIS. Multiple notices have been sent out. Discussion took place regarding report numbers and actual numbers matching, various obstacles to getting correct stats into NYSIIS Change in meeting place – ECHD has agreed to accommodate if necessary, UB has agreed also, Bev will check Chapel at Crosspoint |

New York State: no representation We reviewed last week’s flu activity rates, annual mortality rate thus far, and vaccine effectiveness thus far Erie County: Passed consolidate review; finishing up Workplan goals Niagara County: Busy with travel, referring out for Yellow Fever due to shortage; finished grant and have submitted for approval; still immunizing for flu Genesee County: submitted Workplan; clinics slow, gave info to MD offices Orleans County: Busy with AFIX; flu slow; sending out Lead reminder letters from NYSIIS to families; have 2 Lead Care II machines out which have increased screening rates at those locations; tracking/recalling HPV for adolescents SUNY at Buffalo: Seeing a lot of traveling students; less flu than last month MedImmune: prebooking for next season; quad only; reminder regarding replacement program and returnability GSK: Flu prebook ends 3/31/14; Not making Fluarix trivalent next season d/t high demand for quad; pre-orders for Fluarix trivalent will be cancelled; FluLaval will be available in tri and quad, still accepting pre-books; Infanrix not available due to contract issue, not a shortage, should be resolved beginning of April 2014. Merck: 2nd dose of Varicella will be state requirement for 6th grade, effective July 1, 2014. Pfizer: All good Novartis: not present Sanofi: not present. |

NYSDOH Webinar March 13, 2014: Amendments to School Immunization Regulations: School Immunization Requirements-Effective 7/1/14 MMWR 2/28/14: Prevention and Control of Haemophilus influenze Type b Disease: Recommendations 2/28/14 California Measles Cases 2014: make sure travelers are immunized with MMR; most cases are imported by unvaccinated travelers Infant Pertussis Death in California Voices For Vaccines – emphasizing that immunizing is the “norm”; not immunizing is not “norm”. Review Pertussis Material for web site – please review and bring suggestions to next meeting Other New Business Do we want to add any info to our website, perhaps info on flu vaccine safety for pregnant moms? Bev would like to increase membership, add some new faces; discussion around how this can be achieved? Possible including/inviting pharmacists; Dr. Mattimore will extend invite to Peds Society; will invite annual meeting attendants |
