Kelly Brinkworth, Esq. has been the Supervising Assistant County Attorney-Family Court Division since 1997 having joined Erie County in 1991. She is responsible for the presentment of Juvenile Delinquency / Person in Need of Supervision petitions including arraignment, pre-trial hearings, trials, dispositional hearings and appeals. Ms. Brinkworth represents the Department of Probation in Family Court proceedings. She is the liaison to law enforcement agencies and community based organizations, Central Police Services, Erie County School Districts and Erie County Family Court. Ms. Brinkworth is responsible for determining process, policy decisions, caseload management, and the performance evaluation of attorneys and supports staff of the Family Court Division. She provides legal training for the New York Juvenile Officers Association and for the Erie County Probation Department. Ms. Brinkworth began her undergraduate study at Canisius College Majoring in History. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, and a minor in criminal justice. In the summer of 1988 she studied at Oxford University in England. She then went on to confer her Juris Doctor in 1989 at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law.
