Local Laws - 1985


Local Law No. 1

            Allows polygraph operators to be registered with by the sheriff if academic requirements have been met and the operators have performed at least one hundred fifty examinations over a five year period. 

Local Law No. 2

            Provides that the powers and duties of the hospital board of managers be governing instead of advisory.  Establishes the board, it’s appointments, membership, terms, and powers and duties. 

Local Law No. 3

            Preserves the current ratio of existing veterans exemptions following a full value assessment in Erie County, as provided in section 458, subdivision 5(a) of the RPTL.

Local Law No. 4

            Requires the director of budget and management to provide records of all transactions to the comptroller.  Establishes that the director of budget and management shall assist the comptroller in audit process, additionally he should conduct audits of all county employees with any duty relating to county funds.  All findings are reportable to the county executive and legislature.

Local Law No. 5

            Establishes and defines powers and duties of the audit committee.  Redefines the powers and duties of the county legislature in regards to the audit committee.  Redefines the powers and duties of the county executive in regards to the audit committee.

            Authorizes the sale of eight acres of county land in Hamburg.
