Local Laws - 1987


Local Law No. 1

            Implements a 5% tax in hotels of more than thirty rooms rental capacity. 

Local Law No. 2

            Provides for the appointment of the director of probation by the county executive with the approval of the legislature.  Renames the office of probation, the department of probation.

Local Law No. 3

            Establishes and outlines the duties of the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women.

Local Law No. 4

            Allows for the lease of the former nurses’ residence at the Erie County Home and Infirmary to Monsignor Carr Institute of Catholic Charities of Buffalo for use as a residential care center for adults. 

Local Law No. 5

            Allows for the licensing, but not lease, of any surplus space in the County Clerk’s office at fair and reasonable consideration to businesses that perform a service bearing relation to the clerk’s function.  

Local Law No. 6

            Requirement of minority business utilization and women-owned business utilization and commitment by persons and or firm with the county ofErie.

Local Law No. 7

            Prohibits smoking in Erie County offices and work places.
