Town Supervisor Dennis Powers, Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs and Erie County Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo will co-host a “Passports on the Move” outreach event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Elma Town Hall, 1600 Bowen Road, Elma.
At the event, employees, family, friends, associates and customers of the Town of Elma will have the opportunity to apply for their passports onsite at Elma Town Hall. The passport application and a list of what is required to obtain a passport are available at the supervisor’s office at the Erie County Clerk’s Office, 92 Franklin St., Buffalo, or online at www.erie.gov/passports.
Appointments are required and can be made by contacting the Erie County Clerk’s Office at 858-8866. Completing the following preliminary steps before a scheduled appointment greatly reduces the application processing time:
Fully complete the passport application, but do not sign it, as it must be signed in front of the passport agent.
Copy both sides of the driver’s license.
Bring an original birth certificate with a raised seal or original proof of U.S. citizenship.
Prewrite checks or money orders. No cash will be accepted.
Passport book — $110 check or money order payable to the Department of State. For children younger than 16, the cost is $80.
Passport card — $30 check or money order payable to the Department of State. For children younger than 16, the cost is $15.
Passport book and card cost $140, check or money order, payable to the Department of State. For children younger than 16, the cost is $95.
Execution fee — $25 cash, check or money order payable to the Erie County clerk.
Passport photo — $10 cash, check or money order.
Expedited fee — an additional $60 added to the cost of the passport fees payable to the Department of State. Expedited passport applications can be ready for pickup at the clerk’s office within three business days or mailed to the applicant within seven business days.
