Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo announces that a free guided walk through Emery Park will be held on Saturday, May 18, kicking off this season's Walk in the Park Series. Registration begins at 9 a.m at the Field House, 2084 Emery Road, South Wales.

 

“This is a fun, family-friendly event to enjoy Emery Park while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Attendees will have an opportunity to receive health screenings, learn how to quit smoking, enjoy a guided tour of the park and more," said Legislator Lorigo. 

 

Additional walks will be held on the following dates:

  • Sunday, June 2 at Towpath Park
  • Saturday, June 8 at Isleview Park
  • Saturday, June 15 at Akron Falls Park
  • Saturday, June 22 at Chestnut Ridge Park 

 

Health screenings offered at the event include blood pressure and BMI readings. Assorted health education materials and smoking cessations services, products and program enrollment are available.
