Legislator Lorigo announces funding for the Firemen's Memorial Exhibit Center of WNY

Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo announces that the Firemen's Memorial Exhibit Center of Western New York, located in West Seneca, will receive $2,500 in the 2016 Erie County budget. The Legislature approved the allocation at today’s annual Budget Meeting to support the museum’s efforts to preserve local firefighting history and artifacts.

“The Firemen's Memorial Exhibit Center is an impressive operation that has been doing a great deal to document and maintain our local firefighting community and history. I want to thank my colleagues for supporting this request as I believe Erie County’s support for the center is a solid investment,” said Legislator Lorigo.

Legislator Lorigo urges the County Executive to stay his veto power and support this additional funding priority in next year’s budget. It is important to note that the additional funding was added into the 2016 budget without increasing overall spending in the next fiscal year. In fact, the Legislature lowered the property tax rate for the second consecutive year.
