Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo has proposed that the county invest in the new downtown Explore and More Children’s Museum, which will serve as an anchor attraction in the booming Canalside area. In a resolution submitted at the April 30, 2015 session, Legislator Lorigo requested that the County Executive invest $2 million of the county’s large surplus into this regional destination.

“Explore and More is constructing an amazing children’s museum on our waterfront that will attract visitors to Buffalo. The new $10-million museum will complement the many improvements we have seen in downtown Buffalo, and as a result, Erie County will benefit greatly from a thriving waterfront. We should invest a portion of the county’s surplus into the museum and support the continued revitalization of Western New York,” said Legislator Lorigo. “The new Explore and More Children’s Museum will be unlike anything we have seen in downtown Buffalo and will greatly improve tourism. Investing a small portion of Erie County’s healthy surplus will bring great results.”
